"Sustainability Dialogue with Leaders and Pioneers" is a joint initiative of
Leading authorities on sustainability discuss the challenges and visions of a sustainable development in business, politics, and society within the framework of this lecture series.
Launch
The lecture series was successfully launched on 21 January 2004 with a Sustainability Leader Dialogue with the Nobel Laureate Joseph E. Stiglitz on the subject "Governance for a Sustainable World". Dialogues with well-known authorities, among others with Dr. Claude Martin (former General Director, WWF International), Hernando de Soto (President of the Instituto Libertad y Democracia), Peter Brabeck-Lethmate (CEO and President of the Board of Directors of Nestlé) and Peter Eigen (Founder and Advisory Committee Chairman of Transparency International). Vision
The "Sustainability Dialogue with Leaders and Pioneers" is the most prestigious lecture series in Switzerland for the constructive-critical sustainability dialogue with outstanding international personalities in the sustainability debate, sensitising a wider public without forgoing in-depth consideration of the subject – accompanied by one of a kind personal exchange of experiences among top representatives from the areas of business, science, and politics in an exclusive group.

Two modules


  • Sustainability Leader Dialogues: The main actors in this format are internationally leading personalities whose work makes a significant contribution to the subject of sustainability. Following their in-depth addresses, they face a panel of critical experts/challengers (hearing). The free of charge public events take place in the auditorium of the University of Zürich or in the Auditorium Maximum of the ETH Zürich with an audience of approx. 100 – 400.

  • Pavilion Lectures: The focus of the Pavilion Lectures is on pioneer achievements in the area of sustainable business and economic policy. Authorities from business, science, and society submit their current projects and publications for discussion. The readings followed by dinner (approx. 30 people, "by invitation only“) take place at the CCRS Pavilion.
