Lord Nicholas Stern, Baron Stern of Brentford

Former Chief Economist and Senior Vice-President, The World Bank (2000–2003) and author of the “Stern Review on the Economics of Climate Change”. He served as a Professor of Economics at the University of Warwick and taught at the London School of Economics (LSE). Stern was recruited by Chancellor of the Exchequer Gordon Brown and became second permanent secretary at H.M. Treasury and head of the Government Economic Service (2003). In this function, he published the “Stern Review”.

Simon Brooks

Simon Brooks, a former Director in the Macroeconomic Policy and International Finance Directorate of the UK Treasury, has joined the European Investment Bank (EIB) as Vice-President. He has been appointed as the British member of the EIB's Management Committee.

Director of Climate Exchange (Europe) Ltd, part of Climate Exchange plc group of companies which operate the world's leading exchanges for trading emissions. He was part of the team that launched the Chicago Climate Exchange, and heads up the group's activities in the voluntary carbon market.

Achim Steiner

Executive Director, UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) since 2006. Before joining UNEP, he served as Director General of the World Conservation Union (IUCN) from 2001 to 2006.
